Pan African Statistics (PAS) Programme
The Pan African Statistics (PAS) Programme, launched in 2016 by Eurostat and the African Union Commission (AUC), aims to strengthen institutional and statistical capacity in Africa. In 2022, Eurostat introduced PAS II to further support statistical systems across the AU. A key component of PAS II is to develop guidance on International Trade in Services Statistics (ITSS), including a new e-learning course tailored to the African context.

- Establish better frameworks for collecting, compiling, and disseminating harmonized ITSS in Africa.
- Build institutional capacity for high-quality official statistics supporting African integration and global goals.
E-learning course on International Trade in Services Statistics (ITSS)
This e-learning course on International Trade in Services Statistics (ITSS) is part of the Pan African Statistics (PAS) Programme, supporting the African Union and its members in developing high-quality statistical systems. It equips participants with essential skills for compiling and disseminating ITSS, following BPM7 and MSITS standards.

Course Content
The curriculum covers ITSS compilation based on BPM6 and MSITS, with future modules expanding to:
- Detailed EBOPS breakdowns for key categories per AU Member State.
- ITSS compilation with geographical breakdowns.
- Compilation of Inward Foreign Affiliates Statistics (FATS).
Completion & Certification
- Participants must complete 100% of all four modules and assessments.
- Automated certification upon successful completion.
