What is AU Learn?

AU learn is the new African Union eLearning platform offering relevant professional development opportunities. The Platform hosts interactive self-paced learning, blended learning, virtual classrooms and other training offers.

Can everybody use AU Learn?

AU Learn is primarily for all staff members of the African Union. However, non-African Union staff members can register with external accounts and enjoy a limited number of free training offers.

 

Is AU learn for free?

All available trainings on the AU Learn are free of charge. Please note that selected training offers allow only a limited number of participants.

 

How can I log in as an African Union member?

If you are a staff member of the African Union, you can easily log in without prior registration by using your AU login credentials (YOUR_MAIL@african-union.org).

·   Go to https://au-learn.org

·   Click on “LOGIN” in the top right-hand corner

·   Click on “CONTINUE AS AFRICAN UNION MEMBER”

·   Select or add your AU account (YOUR_MAIL@african-union.org).

·   Log in

 

Which languages are supported by AU learn?

AU Learn supports training offers in all the AU working languages - English, French, Arabic and Potuguese. However only English and French training offers are currently available. Training offers in other AU languages will be added in due course.   

How can I log in as an external user?

If you are not a staff member of the African Union, you will have to create a new account first.

·   Go to https://au-learn.org

·   Click on “REGISTER NEW ACCOUNT” in the top right-hand corner

·   Fill in the form with your personal details and and click “CREATE NEW ACCOUNT”

After that, you will receive an e-mail from noreply@au-learn.org.

IMPORTANT: Please check your spam folder. For completing your registration, follow the instructions sent by e-mail.

From then on, you can log in by following these steps: 

·   Go to https://au-learn.org

·   Click on “LOGIN” in the top right-hand corner

·   Click on “CONTINUE AS EXTERNAL USER”

·   Enter your e-mail and password

·   Log in

 

I cannot log in anymore! What can I do?

Reset your password by clicking on “Forgot password?”. An email will be sent to your registered account with instructions on how to reset your password.  IMPORTANT: Don’t forget to check your spam folder. Follow the instructions sent by e-mail to reset your password and log in again.

How do I search for a particular training?

.  Type in the training name in the search box below  heading ‘Training Catalogue’ on the top left corner the heading training catalogue on the top left hand corner of the page. 

 

How can I enrol in a training?

·   Select your desired training in the “Training Catalogue”

·   Click on “DETAILS”

·   Click on “ENROL NOW”

·   Confirm your enrolment by clicking again on “ENROL NOW”

You will find the training now in your “Training Dashboard”

Where can I find my trainings?

Find all the trainings you are enrolled in under “Training Dashboard”

·   Go to https://au-learn.org

·   Log in

·   Click on “MY ACCOUNT” in the top right-hand corner

·   Select “TRAINING DASHBOARD”

 

 

How can I enter/resume my trainings?

Enter your ‘Training Dashboard’ under “MY ACCOUNT” and click on “Continue Training”

How can I get a certificate for the training?

 You will need to generate your certificate by clicking on the ‘Training Completion’ Tab below the training description. Follow the on-screen instructions to generate your certificate. IMPORTANT: You will need to complete all the activities within the training first, in order to gain access to your certificate. 

Can I access AU learn via my smartphone or tablet?

Yes, the African Union eLearning platform allows access via smartphones and tablets because of its responsive design. However, some of our training offers are optimized for desktop users and might be more learner friendly on bigger screens.

 

How can I host a training on AU Learn?

Contact the ‘Helpdesk’ for guidance on how to host training offers on AU Learn. Refer to ‘I have a technical problem. Who can help? for how to contact helpdesk

Which browsers are supported by AU Learn

For a better experience, it is preferable to use MOZILLA FIREFOX and GOOGLE CHROME to access AU Learn.

 

What is BigBlueButton and how can I use it?

BigBlueButton (BBB) is a video conferencing tool and an integrated feature of AU learn which can be used by trainers to set up virtual meetings/classrooms. All learners can join scheduled virtual meetings/classes without leaving the AU Learn platform. 

 

What types of training offers are available on AU-Learn?

Training offers on AU Learn are divided into 3 training categories:

Self-paced - where learners can learn in their own time and schedule. 

Blended - where there is a combination of offline and online learning in a way that one compliments the other

Tutored training - Where learners and trainers meet virtually in a classroom, following a schedule.

 

Can I access my training after completion?

Completed training offers can be accessed for a limited period, before the training is archived.

Can I enroll in more than one training?

It is possible to enrol in more than one training. Search for your desired  training and enrol. See response to ‘How can I enrol in a training?

 

Can I access resources even after the training has ended?

Yes, you can access the resources of an already executed training by resuming the training from your training dashboard, or the training catalogue. Once you have resumed the training, click the ‘Resources’ tab under the training description to view all resources for that training. You may need to scroll down to see the tiles.

How do I join the virtual classroom?

To join a virtual classroom, follow the steps;

1. Enroll yourself in the desired  training, if you haven’t already. If you are already enrolled in the training, then you will need to click on resume the training from your training dashboard or the training catalogue. 

2. Once enrolled/resumed, click on the ‘Webinar’ tile below the training description to reveal the link to join  the virtual classroom. (you may need to scroll down to see the tiles)

3. The link takes you to another page where you will need to ‘Join session’ in order to be redirected to the virtual classroom.

 

How do I complete the feedback form?

Once you have enrolled/resumed the desired training, click on the ‘Training Completion’ tile under the course description, to reveal the link to the feedback form. You can complete the form by clicking on the link and following the on-screen instructions. 

Note that in some training programs, you will need to complete the lessons first, before being allowed to access the feedback form.
